All questions are from the patient's perspective.

  • Is there anything in the plan for today that might make me hurt or feel uncomfortable?

  • If yes, what will you do to make sure I don't hurt or feel uncomfortable?

  • How can I call for help?

  • How long will I wait if I need something?

  • How and when will I eat?

  • How will I be able to go to the bathroom?

  • When can my family visit me?

  • Will you explain to me what my doctor has told me?

  • Will you explain to me every device placed on (or in) me and how long it will need to be in place?

  • What can I do to help myself get better?
